We collect the bare minimum to make the extension work. We don't sell your data. We don't scrape LinkedIn. We don't know your password. Your secrets are safe, fren.
What We Collect
When you use CheckWorth, we process the following:
- Profile data from your screen: Name, job title, company, location, and experience as displayed on the LinkedIn profile you're viewing. This is only what's already visible to you.
- Estimation results: The generated net worth estimate, confidence score, and associated profile metadata.
- Device identifier: An anonymous device ID to manage your account and rate limits. No email, no password, no personal info.
- Basic usage data: How many estimates you've made, share events, and error logs to keep things running smooth.
What We Don't Collect
Let's be crystal clear about what we never touch:
- Your LinkedIn login credentials
- Email addresses or phone numbers from profiles
- Your browsing history outside of LinkedIn
- Connection lists or private messages
- Payment info (handled entirely by our payment processor)
How We Use Your Data
- Generate and cache net worth estimates so we don't recompute the same profile twice
- Enforce usage limits (free vs. paid tiers)
- Improve our AI model accuracy over time
- Debug issues and prevent abuse
Data Storage & Security
Estimation results are stored on secure servers. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS everywhere) and at rest. We don't store raw LinkedIn page HTML or any data beyond what's listed above.
Third Parties
We use third-party services for:
- AI processing: Profile data is sent to our AI provider to generate estimates. They don't store your data beyond processing.
- Hosting: Our backend runs on Vercel.
- Analytics: Basic, anonymous usage analytics. No creepy tracking.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. Ever. That's a promise.
Data Deletion
Want your data wiped? Hit us up at privacy@checkworth.app and we'll nuke it within 24 hours. No questions asked. Your bag, your call.
Cookies
The extension itself doesn't use cookies. Our website may use minimal cookies for analytics. Nothing that tracks you across the internet like some kind of digital stalker.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with an updated date. For major changes, we'll let you know through the extension. No sneaky edits.
